Special thanks to NEFLIN staff (Stephanie, Brad, Patty and Jennifer) who work so hard to make sure the librarians in this area stay up to date with library information as well as technology through websites. Your work is greatly appreciated by all of us. It is training like this that keeps librarians informed of the most recent changes in the library world without you all doing all that you do some of us would not have a clue about library changes. Keep up the good work. I will be looking forward to another online training like The 23 Things
Congratulations! You have completed Thing 23! We hope you have enjoyed the process and will continue to learn about and use technology in your personal and professional life.Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Thing 19
The social networking websites listed here are interesting. This list of websites has something on every subject area of interest for everyone. There is so much that we could offer to the patron now that we now have the knowledge of the websites. I can see the patrons, as well as, the staff sharing and learning from the websites listed under library thing 19. I am going to make it one of my priorities to get with co-workers and make a list of the various sites that our patrons and staff can benefit the most from.
. I’ve enjoyed visiting the various websites and will continue to learn as much as I can about them and share the information with patron and staff. I think introducing some of these websites to the managers at the managers monthly would be a great asset to our system.

I think Facebook and Myspace is a great resource e when used for the right purpose. I like that fact that it is can be used to tutor or instruct students, due to so many people loosing their jobs and going back to school. It’s great also in the fact that they offer so much more than people use them for. Just think what it would be like if every thing that it offers was used. What a wealth of information and knowledge would be made available to the world. I would like to see the Putnam County Library System at some point use it to share what they are doing with the surrounding counties.
